Launching deb.haus has been an incredible journey. From late-night packaging adjustments to customer feedback that reshaped our products, each experience has added value to the brand. Here are my top five lessons from our first year.
1. Start Small, Dream Big
I launched deb.haus in September 2023 with a vision: create hypoallergenic, eco-friendly sheets that offer comfort to people with sensitivities. Starting with a small line allowed me to focus on quality and customer satisfaction from the very beginning.
2. Customer Feedback is Everything
Listening to customers has been one of the best ways to improve the product. Their feedback on softness, durability, and design directly influenced adjustments, making our sheets better with each batch.
3. Mastering the Marketing Maze
Marketing taught me that even the best products need visibility. Through social media12, I learned the importance of a consistent, relatable brand voice to attract a loyal customer base.
4. Sustainability Matters—But It’s a Balancing Act
Using sustainable materials and packaging3 is core to our brand, but finding eco-friendly options that work for both our values and budget has been a challenge. However, our commitment to transparency and eco-conscious practices is non-negotiable.
5. Adapt and Keep Innovating
This year taught me the importance of flexibility in e-commerce. From refining our sheets based on feedback to planning for new products, staying adaptable has been crucial to building a brand that people trust.
Each of these lessons has shaped deb.haus into what it is today. I’m excited for what’s next, and grateful for everyone who’s been part of our journey toward a more comfortable, hypoallergenic sleep experience.
